On of the processes I've been committed to over the last decade is called Spiritual Direction. The communications geek in me is here to report that as far as job titles go, that is a weak one. I'm not directing anyone. I'm listening, discerning and providing some spiritual perspectives and tools that can help with the more existential questions that come up for my clients on their journey's.
Why am I here? Where do I go next? Is there are a next? Am I living my true life? I feel an emptiness that this material life, no how much I try, just can't fill. I'm not a Director with answers, I'm a companion that helps others to find the right questions. There is, I feel, a true self, a sacred spark at the very core of our being. Over the course of a life' journey we often build a shell around that core, conditioned as we are to believe that scarcity is reality. Not enough money, not enough room on the buffet plate and not enough love. It's love that many speak about in our sessions in one way or another. Feeling like they didn't get enough and coming to terms with not giving love to themselves, to each other and to this sacred earth. Spiritual Companions and there directees are engaged in the noble task of walking each other home. Paradoxically each client is unique yet their longings are universal. I love being a Spiritual Companion. If you need one, I'm here. ralphbenmergui.ca
